DAY ‘N’ NIGHT SPRING FASHION SHOW PRESENTED BY SMA

The Student Merchandising Association (SMA) kicked off UGA Fashion Month with an eclipsing clash of black and white tones with the Day ‘N’ Night Fashion showcase. Stunning looks were seen at the Lyndon House Arts Center the night of April 6th, leaving us all seeing stars. Models took the floor wearing monochromatic ensembles, coordinating each motion and step with fluidity and confidence. There was no mistake that every inch of the venue was left painted with strokes of midnight blacks and pearly whites. Missed out? No worries. You can find a brief recap that captures the essence displayed that night on their Instagram page (@uga.sma).

PRINTS & POWER FASHION SHOW PRESENTED BY FDSA

The Fashion Design Student Association (FDSA) paid homage to Frankie Welch with a Prints & Power Fashion show. Welch was a fashion designer from Rome, Georgia who gained traction with her unique designs being worn by prominent political figures. Here southern scarves are said to have “changed the fabric of American fashion” as her Georgia roots shone through every piece she wove. FDSA transformed the venue into a strapping foundation and presented a powerful aura that was supported by the models’ conviction and the designers’ significance, thorough prints. The captivating mesh of patterned messages was apparent with each look that was sported along the floor. A record of these looks can be found on FDSA’s Instagram page (@fdsauga).
