Rouge Valentine's Day Beauty Looks

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the season of love is all about spending time with your pal-entines and valentines. Whether it’s a late-night grocery run with the gals to Wal-Mart for the staple Pillsbury sugar cookies, or a romantic candlelit dinner with your S.O., we’ve got you covered with four makeup looks to celebrate the holiday.

Look #1: That one Snapchat filter that everyone loves, but more permanent

Why wear your heart on your sleeve when you can wear it on your cheeks? Pairing a bold smokey cat eye with tiny red hearts and a red lip to match is the perfect look for any Valentine’s Day gathering. Use a matte red lip paint and a tiny lip brush to carefully paint on the hearts, and then use the same color on your lips for an effortlessly festive makeup look.

A red lip is a classic, but the hearts are a cute addition to an already beautiful makeup look. Even if you wear just a simple white t-shirt and a pair of well-loved boyfriend jeans, this makeup is sure to spice up any outfit.

Look #2: Glitter, glitter, and more glitter

An eyeshadow look with pink glitter, what’s not to love? Start with a neutral mauve base and then wet your finger or a flat shadow brush to pack the glitter onto your lid. Make sure to add a white shimmer on the inner corner and brow-bone to draw light to the area. With this look, all attention is drawn to your eyes, which is perfect for a dinner date with your boo.

This sparkly, pink-toned eyeshadow look pairs perfectly with glowy skin and a glossy nude lip. Wear this bold eyeshadow look with a matching silky bodysuit for a show-stopping entrance—day or night.

Look #3: Red and black, but make it fashion.

Who said red is just for the lips? If you’re feeling more of a high-fashion look for the season of love, try a two-toned smokey cat eye with a red lip. This look isn’t for the faint of heart, so wear it with confidence. Use red lipstick on an angled liner brush for the perfect flick, and then carefully smudge the red onto your bottom lash line for a smoky, sultry look.

Working with a bold red color on the eyes can be daunting, but don’t let that fear stop you from recreating this stunning look. Makeup is just another way to show off your creativity, so why not go all out? You could even use a hot pink or purple lipstick instead of red for an unexpected pop of festive color.

Look #4: Soft, pink, and dreamy

This light, but oh-so-sweet, makeup look proves you don’t have to go all out with a smoky eye and dark lip for the occasion. By matching this Barbie pink eyeliner to your lip color, the color coordination makes you look effortlessly poised and put together. This makeup look is perfect for a Valentine’s Day-themed picnic (with candy hearts and chocolate-covered strawberries, of course).

Using lipstick or a pigmented eyeshadow for a pop of color turns a basic neutral eye into a playful makeup look. By keeping the rest of the makeup natural and glowy, all attention will be on your eyes.
