Travel Essentials for a COVID-Free Future
The pandemic has largely impacted the way we travel. We once were able to fly with ease, but today’s Covid-19 precautions outweigh the simplicity of traveling. Though the virus still needs to be taken seriously, things are beginning to look up, and there’s no harm in looking forward to the days when the doors of travel reopen to what they were before the pandemic . The process of packing, navigating airports, anxiously sitting on airplanes, and enjoying complimentary pretzels all make flying sound much more exciting than sitting on our couches!
Stocking up on new travel essentials adds to this anticipation; it’s important to have quality and practical products that are going to make the journey to and from your destination smooth and effortless. A few of my favorite essentials are:
Béis luggage
Béis is a travel brand that produces the ultimate luggage! This company was created by actress, model, and author Shay Mitchell. Béis has totes, suitcases, backpacks, passport holders, packing cubes, etc., which all come with special features. For example, their luggage has weight indicators located on the side handles, and their backpacks have padded laptop pockets and a slip on the back that allows you to slide your luggage handle underneath to keep them attached. Béis is a personal favorite brand for travel essentials, and their products are well-worth the investment.
A Carry-On Essentials Pouch
Even during the pandemic, I recommend bringing an essentials pouch, an accessible bag in my carry-on that has my necessities to ease the stress of traveling. It’s the perfect place to store an extra mask, hand sanitizer, lip balm, advil, hair ties, and maybe even a book for some intellectual entertainment! These pouches by Kimoli are the perfect size at an affordable price.
Comfortable Sneakers
It may seem like a smaller detail, but your shoe choice will directly impact your day of traveling. If you are constantly up on your feet waiting in lines, and especially if you’re at the airport, you’ll want to pull your shoes on and off throughout the day. Make sure you wear a comfy and convenient pair of shoes so your feet aren’t in agony - your feet will thank you later! A trusty pair of sneakers I love are my Hokas. Hokas offer comfortable support, and I have no problem slipping mine on and off quickly in the middle of the airport security lines.
Overall, the pandemic may have set our traveling plans back, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be excited for when we hit the airports again. I look forward to the day when we’ll have the luxury of flying to our next big journey and can embrace everything our destination has to offer. That day will come soon enough, so start preparing early and get excited for more adventurous days ahead!
