Hot Girl Grammys: Breaking Down Megan Thee Stallion's Iconic Looks
The force of nature that is Megan Thee Stallion took the 2021 Grammy Awards by storm this year, and she did it in three killer outfits. The rap icon won the award for Best New Artist, as well as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for her hit track “Savage Remix,” which features Beyoncé and went viral on TikTok in 2020. After owning the red carpet looking like a 90’s prom queen, Megan Thee Stallion performed “WAP” with Cardi B on stage at the awards, during which the rapper underwent an outfit and hair change. Of course, she killed both looks. Let’s take a closer look at Megan’s iconic looks from the 2021 Grammys.

This look is a timeless combination of classic and elegant with a hint of 90’s hot girl. The rapper donned a bright orange gown with a train and a sultry leg slit by Dolce & Gabbana as she made her way down the red carpet, with her hair swept up into a hollywood-glam style updo to show off the oversized bow on the backside. Stylist Eric Archibald, who put the look together with Megan, says that the styling was inspired by “Old Black Hollywood glamour.” They played on the bright color of the dress and accessorized with glamorous and shining diamond jewelry from Chopard, ultimately boasting over 220 carats set in white gold. She matched her dress with custom-made Dolce & Gabbana shoes, encrusted with glittering crystals. The artist and her team opted for neutral, fresh makeup that allowed for the color of the dress to steal the show. A touch of eyeliner and a glowy highlight added to the romantic Hollywood-inspired look.
On Stage
Megan ditched the gown for two sexy bodysuits to take the stage and perform at the ceremony. Dolce & Gabbana also designed these looks, which were both decorated with metallic silver fabric and crystal accents.
To perform her songs “Savage” and “Body,” the rapper wore an almost-sheer bodysuit smothered in Swarovski crystals. She came on stage with a large, white feather cape to continue channeling the old-Hollywood look, and wore her hair in a classic 20’s pin-up style. After removing the cape, Megan revealed her striking corset and put on a high-energy show.
For her performance of “WAP” with Cardi B, Megan changed into a metallic, long-sleeved bodysuit custom-made by L.A. ROXX. The corset top was made of a mirror-like fabric that reflected the shining spotlights on the performers. The ensemble had a futuristic hot-girl-robot feel, with structured detailing and boning paired with Megan’s transition to pin-straight, long hair. Complete with an intimidatingly long set of nails, Megan was giving power and strength on stage and looking incredible doing it.
Megan Thee Stallion stunned at the Grammys this year, earning herself three highly coveted awards and showing the world her talent as a performer, artist, and fashion icon. There’s bound to be many more iconic looks from Megan still yet to come, and the world is eagerly waiting for her next savage style moment.
