Rouge Executive Board Profiles: Reilley Shamblin
“Rouge is my creative space. I feel like I am able to be myself and express my fashion side without any constraints.”
Reilley Shamblin, a Fashion Merchandising major, is the Creative Director at Rouge and works closely with Vanessa Vassileva, our Editor-in-Chief, as her second-in-command.
Her love for fashion not only got her involved in Rouge, where she started as Assistant Fashion Editor but has also translated itself into her job at Fab’rik, a boutique in downtown Athens. Reilley, a self-described cheetah print and snakeskin fanatic, is an aspiring boutique owner and says that she loves “the customer part of the fashion world and how an outfit can change a woman's perspective on herself and her day.” The influence that fashion has and the way it can instill confidence and passion in women is what fuels Reilley’s infatuation on all things fashion.
In her second year on the Rouge executive team, Reilley’s passion for what the magazine does has never faltered. She hopes that members get creative freedom from Rouge as she did and that they get the opportunity to share their ideas with everyone on their team with full support.
“I want members to be able to express themselves and play on their strengths.”
As a student-run publication, Rouge is concerned with not only putting out great material, but giving students the chance to gain experience and put their work out there, whether it be through writing, styling, designing graphics, or anything else the organization has to offer.
