Winter Fashion Trends

The cold weather is finally here after the long extensive summer, and all that is on everyone’s mind is, “What do I wear?” Today, I plan to run through the pieces you all need to complete your winter wardrobe and be the “it-girl” during this frigid season.

First off, we are seeing faux fur everywhere this season. Whether it is a fur hat, a fur headband or just a classic fur coat, faux fur automatically elevates a look. It has become such a widespread trend lately due to its practicality, luxurious look and versatility. A fur coat, for example, can be dressed up or down. Say you are running errands in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt; why not throw on a fur jacket on top for extra warmth and to show a chic twist on a comfy outfit? Incorporating faux fur in some capacity into your outfits this winter always guarantees a glamorous and effortlessly stylish vibe, regardless of the occasion.

While scarves, gloves and leg warmers have always been prominent accessories during the winter months, I feel as if we still do not see enough people wearing them. These additional accessories can elevate a simple outfit to a stylish one. There are so many variations of scarves, for example, in regard to material, print or thickness.

Leg warmers are another overlooked piece that needs to be incorporated into more winter outfits this season. They pair well with all different types of shoes, whether it is loafers, boots or even sneakers. A creative pairing is leg warmers with wrap shoes, where the straps of the heels are shown wrapped around the leg warmers. This is a creative way to utilize more summer-like shoes in cooler weather.

A final essential piece for winter is tights, but not just traditional nude or black tights. Using colored or printed tights underneath skirts or dresses can significantly elevate an outfit while keeping you warm. Opting for a pair of tights with an intricate pattern such as argyle or leopard can make a plain outfit cool.

As winter is starting to settle in and the temperatures drop, it is the perfect time to update your wardrobe with new pieces for the season. Faux fur, dainty leg warmers, statement scarves and printed tights are essential elements that can transform basic winter outfits into fashionable looks. As you curate your winter wardrobe, remember that with the right accessories and a touch of creativity, you can still be stylish no matter how cold it gets outside.
