Rouge Executive Board Profiles: Stephanie Lopez

Stephanie Lopez, Rouge’s Director of Photography, is a sophomore Advertising major, with a Business minor and a New Media certificate.
Stephanie is Puerto Rican and her main passions are photography (obviously), makeup, and her dog, Rico. A self-described introvert, our powerhouse photographer always prefers a night in watching YouTube videos or one of her favorite TV shows, The Flash.
Outside of Rouge, Stephanie is a part of Talking Dog Agency, the student-led Ad Agency at UGA. She recently had the opportunity to shoot content for Porsche (one of her favorite experiences at UGA thus far) through Talking Dog. She also makes YouTube videos about her life/experience at UGA.
While researching organizations during the summer before her freshman year, she came across a few fashion clubs at UGA that needed photographers, but Rouge (Little Red Book at the time) stood out to her. She started off as the Assistant Photography Director for her first semester in the club and became the Photography Director her second semester. Stephanie also frequently lends a helping hand to Christin Walls, our Beauty Editor, by doing makeup for some of the models on shoot days.
“Rouge is an outlet for me to express my creativity through photography and makeup,” said Stephanie.
Stephanie has also been able to find paid photography work through some of the work that she showcases from her time at Rouge. “One girl reached out to me because the company she interns at needed photos. She wanted me to take them because she loved the photos I took for the magazine!” said Stephanie.
“All the members I’ve met in Rouge have inspired me to take more risks not only with fashion but in life!”
For Stephanie, Rouge has helped her step out of her comfort zone. Rouge is a fashion club, but that doesn’t mean that it’s only for Fashion Merchandising students. Stephanie believes that even if you’re a Finance major or a Pre-Med student, there is still a home for you at Rouge!

Q & A With STEPHANIE LOPEZ, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY:
Q: What is your wardrobe staple?
A: Gold jewelry.
Q: Go-to outfit?
A: Leggings and the first t-shirt I find in the morning.
Q: Item in your wardrobe you’ll never give up?
A: My Ralph Lauren shorts I thrifted!
Q: Dream item you wish you owned?
A: Not fashion related but I would love to own the Canon 24-70 mm f2.8 lens!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Most of the time I prefer comfort over style, but I do really enjoy getting all glammed up for special events!
Q: Do you have a favorite brand to wear or place to shop?
A: Shopping honestly overwhelms me, but I love shopping and finding unique pieces at thrift stores!
Q: A favorite designer?
A: I don't really know much about the fashion design world, so I honestly couldn't tell you!
Q: Beauty staple?
A: I can never get enough of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter!
