Revisiting Euphoria’s Character-Driven Fashion as Season Three Approaches

As the release of “Euphoria” season three approaches quickly, the long-awaited trailer continues to hold us over as we anxiously await the chaos and raw emotion that made the series a cultural phenomenon.  Fans are once again diving back into the glitter, chaos and raw emotion that made the series a cultural phenomenon.

While the storytelling and performances have always been at the heart of the show, it is impossible to ignore one of its most defining elements: the fashion.

From the very first episode, “Euphoria” redefined what teen style could look like on screen. It was not just about trends. It was about identity, vulnerability and transformation that takes place throughout fundamental teenage years.

Each character’s wardrobe became an extension of their inner world, telling stories just as powerful as the dialogue.

Take Rue, whose laid-back, oversized layers and muted tones mirror her struggle with addiction and detachment. Her look is intentionally understated, yet deeply expressive in its simplicity.

Rue is often seen in baggy silhouettes and thrifted graphic tees. Rue’s wardrobe effortlessly embodies a skater-inspired aesthetic that prioritizes comfort.

In contrast, Jules bursts onto the scene in a kaleidoscope of colors, textures and silhouettes. She frequently wears skirts, chunky sneakers and chokers. Her fashion is experimental and unapologetically bold, reflecting her journey of self-discovery and freedom.

Then there is Maddy Perez; her wardrobe is defined by sleek, body-hugging silhouettes, bold colors and carefully curated details that project power along with self-assurance. From form-fitting dresses to coordinated sets, Maddy dresses with intention, always presenting a polished and dominant image. However, beneath the surface, her style also reveals a deeper layer of vulnerability.

Equally compelling is Cassie, whose style evolution tells one of the show’s most visually striking narratives. Beginning with soft, romantic looks in season one, her wardrobe gradually shifts into something more curated and intense. Her increasingly meticulous outfits mirror her desire for validation and perfection, revealing the emotional turmoil beneath the surface. One of her most memorable looks is the “Oklahoma” costume, featuring gingham and floral patterns, paired with her voluminous hairstyles.

And of course, no conversation about “Euphoria” fashion would be complete without mentioning its makeup looks. The show’s makeup, including glitter tears and rhinestone accents, sparked a global movement. Suddenly, maximalism returned to the forefront, and self-expression became the priority.
