Rouge Executive Board Profiles: Christin Walls
“I love Rouge because there’s no limit to how involved you can be… as long as you’re willing to put in the work, someone will be there to listen to what you have to say.”
Christin Walls, a second-year psychology major and aspiring Anesthesiologist, successfully led her way to become Beauty Editor for Rouge by her second semester of freshman year. She credits her friend for letting her know about the club:
“He told me they needed people to help with makeup and I am obsessed with makeup,” said Christin. She does not shy away from expressing her love for the people she’s met and lessons she’s learned from working with Rouge.
Beauty is only one of Christin’s many obsessions. Her favorite pastimes include watching basketball and football games, shopping, listening to music, talking to family on the phone, and, of course, watching makeup tutorials on Youtube (Jackie Anai is her favorite!).
“I have really learned just to be myself and not be afraid to put myself out there”
Christin hopes members of Rouge never lose sight of how special they are. She’s a firm believer in wearing whatever makes you feel your best, despite others’ opinions. “I have always been shy to really express myself in fear that I don’t actually fit in anywhere,” she said, “[but] I never have those thoughts when I’m with my Rouge fam… they have shown me what truly being able to express yourself looks like.”
Q & A With Christin Walls, Beauty Editor:
Q: What is your wardrobe staple?
A: Tennis shoes and simple accessories. On the daily, I wear two silver Tiffany bracelets with the matching silver necklace earrings.
Q: Go-to outfit?
A: Crop top, high waisted jeans, and some fire tennis shoes.
Q: Item in your wardrobe you’ll never give up?
A: Louis Vuitton Neverfull Purse.
Q: Dream item you wish you owned?
A: A Chanel bag.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: There are two extremes. I am either sporty casual or super girly when I am really dressed up. I love heels, but I also love a bomb pair of Nikes. In my dream life, I would dress like Cher from Clueless every day, but realistically I dress like Serena Williams.
Q: Do you have a favorite brand to wear or place to shop?
A: Pretty Little Thing.
Q: A favorite designer?
A: Louis Vuitton.
Q: Beauty staple?
A: Perfect eyebrows and bright under-eye concealer, preferably Fenty Beauty.
